Jeffrey Yates is an accomplished professional and passionate advocate for community involvement, bringing over 25 years of expertise as an attorney in the private sector to his role as a board member of Journey of Hope.  Known for his strategic thinking and collaborative leadership style, Jeffrey is committed to helping the organization expand its impact and deliver on its mission to provide compassionate and client-centered mental health care at a time when it is most needed.

Jeffrey currently owns his own law firm in Prosper, Texas with a focus on business transactions, estate planning and real estate.  His professional background has given him a deep understanding of the importance of effective board governance, and he is dedicated to ensuring that Journey of Hope operates with transparency, accountability, and a clear focus on long-term sustainability.

In addition, Jeffrey serves on the board directors for the Prosper Economic Development Corporation helping shape the future of the Town of Prosper.  He has served on the board of South Dallas Community Ministries and has been a volunteer at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. His commitment to service is rooted in a belief that strong communities are built through collective action and that nonprofits play a crucial role in that process.

Outside of his professional and nonprofit work, Jeffrey enjoys playing golf, fly fishing and spending time with his family in the mountains, which provide him with a balanced perspective on life and work. His family of 4 are members at the North campus of Prestonwood Baptist Church, and his wife works at Prestonwood Christian Academy – North.  He is a firm believer in the importance of lifelong learning and is continually seeking ways to grow both personally and professionally.

Jeffrey’s leadership and commitment to making a meaningful difference in the community align with the core values of Journey of Hope. As a board member, he looks forward to working closely with fellow board members, staff, and the community to drive the organization forward, ensuring its continued success and positive impact for years to come.
