Emma is a volunteer facilitator who experienced the loss of her mother as a child, she gives back because attending grief support groups made an impact on her grief journey.

Support our Families on Group Nights

Support Group Facilitator

A group facilitator leads our support groups and helps families through their grief journeys. We ask that facilitators commit to volunteering for one year or one school year (August-May) to foster a greater sense of trust and belonging with our families.

Group Night Greeter

Be the first welcoming face our families see on group night. We prefer consistent greeters so our families see a familiar face each time.

Group Night Meal Provider

Anyone can be a meal provider! We have had meals provided by church groups, scout troops, families, groups of friends, and service groups.

More Volunteer Opportunities

Event Volunteer

We offer several events throughout the year where we need people to serve on committees, plan the event, set-up, and provide assistance as needed the day of.

Youth Volunteer

Individuals, youth organizations, sports teams, and school groups can make a difference together by volunteering with us. Reach out to see if we have any opportunities available at this time.

Photography/Videographer

We love having pictures and videos to share the impact our program has on grieving children and families. Whether you are a professional or amateur, you can help us capture special moments at our events.

Other Talents & Skills

It takes a strong support system filled with a diverse network of others to help us serve grieving children and their families. We know your talents and skills are valuable, and we greatly appreciate your willingness to share them with Journey of Hope.

" I wanted to be able to have the opportunity to do the same thing for other kids that others had done for me. It's been really meaningful to me to be able to be an adult that a kid like me going through a similar experience really needed and needs during this really difficult time. "
