Don’t worry…experienced facilitators and a member of our program staff will always be there if you need anything!
Time Commitment
At a minimum, Facilitators donate 3.5 hours to their assigned group twice a month for a total of 7 hours total.
Facilitators are on site from 5:30pm-9:00pm. Groups are located in Plano and Frisco. Exact locations are not publicized for the privacy of our families but will be provided during training.
Facilitators are encouraged to attend the various program and fundraising events we have throughout the year.
We have found that having a regular facilitator who is committed to their group fosters a greater sense of trust and belonging.
Training
Our training is led by Program Staff and Facilitators who are skilled in teaching grief management. This is to ensure our Group Facilitators are well-equipped to lead peer support groups confidently.
The purpose of the training is to teach caring individuals the skills of working with children, adolescents, and adults who are grieving in age-appropriate groups.
Facilitator trainees will benefit from examining their own ways of dealing with loss and learning the skill of empathic listening.
